Black & Brown Bodies in Rural England
An Embodied Approach to Taking Up Space
Available spots
Service Description
Black Body Heart Mind Consultancy along with the Rural Racism Research Project are facilitating two, one day, immersions focused on, Black & Brown Lives in Rural England: An Embodied Approach to Taking Up Space. These one day immersions will include explorative embodied practices in order to identify how it is for black and brown bodies to be under the white gaze and still take up space in rural places. How are we made and remade to express our authentic black/brown experience? What are we working with, and what is working against us as we move in locations where the bodies do not look like us, or experience the world like us, despite the fact that we are here and have been for some time? Whilst these immersions will not give us all the answers, they will provide embodied and somatic tools to better equip those of us living in rural places, to take up our rightful space, living black and brown lives in Rural England.
